The project

On our way to World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow !!

Yes we are travelling... in a Renault 4L !!

Why a Renault 4L ???

Not only because it is a mythical car launched in 1961; nor because driving 3000 km in a grating, squealing car distilling a sweet fragrance of oil and petrol is enchanting; nor because we love the powerful, roaring sound of our fair 4L’s engine driving along !!

But also because the 4L is a practical car built of only mechanical parts so it is easy to repair should we become stuck on the road side at the top of the Col of Monte Croce Carnico !

Well, in the nutshell, to go with a 4L is to go on an adventure !!

It is also a pilgrimage !

Next to the motor challenge, our project is a spiritual journey.

First of all, we will be accopanied by the Father Martin Charcosset, from the parish of Dardilly, near to Lyon.

Therefore the itinerary to reach Poland will pass through many key places which have marked the history of Christianity: Lourdes, Fallavaux, Turin, Padua, Mariazell...

At each site, as well as writing our log, we plan to collect something symbolic such as water from Lourdes...

Therefore loaded with symbols tracing some of Christianity's history across Europe we will reach Poland in time for the WYD 2016 in Krakow !!

And once there ?

We will spend a week in Krakow with a group from the diocese of Lyon.

Reaching Krakow will not be the end of our adventure. On the contrary, it will mark a new departure, a new group, new teachings… well, the WYD !! ;)

Visit the Diocese of Lyon's website page for WYD...

THE BONUSES

Let's make this road trip even more worthwhile and exciting !!

Charitable works

Let's give more meaning to our journey ! Let's enrich our pilgrimage to Krakow !

We are suggesting to any interested team an involvement in a charitable project.

Each 4L will carry 20 kg of powdered milk Régilait. It will be given to a polish Foyer de Charité in Rogow.

A great Thank you to Régilait and the Foyer de Charité of Rogow for their help and sponsoring.

What about music ?

Let's share our joy and prayers through singing !

Throughout our journey, we would love to offer music and singing in the parishes where we visit: for their ceremonies, services, a vigil of worship, a mini-concert...

We are currently twinning with our welcoming parish in Krakow, Poland, and already swapping English and Latin scores so as to be ready to sing and worship together in an adoration vigil.

Take part in this sharing through singing, you will never regret it !!

Should you still hesitate whether about taking part, you can listen to this recording by the DAC or Dei Amoris Cantores: we will sing a lot of their songs on our journey back from Krakow ! ;)
